Educating people promotes awareness, breaks down prejudices and advocates for the compassionate treatment of individuals suffering from mental health and addiction issues. Stigma and prejudice are not generally based in fact. Personal biases, misinformation or a lack of information cloud the opinions of individuals which results in harsh and quick judgment. We have become so impersonal as a society that we forget that individuals suffering from mental health and addiction issues are people to. They are someone's daughter or son, mother or father, sister or brother. They are real people that have real problems and have suffered with real issues. My blog posts on this site express my views about myself and my fellow addicts and mental health sufferers. I also advocate for changes in the opiate crisis through my website fentanylfacts.com.
